It's my Birthday...

April is my birthday month and this year I'm 28. Robert wanted to make my birthday special, so he planned a whole day in London for us. He booked us both tickets to see Disney's The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre and made a reservation at The Sartoria on Savile Row, Mayfair in London.

All ready for London.

We live really close to London so we are able to jump on the train and in 40-45 mins be in Central London. Which I personally love because we get to do all of the fun things that London can offer without living amidst the hustle and bustle of the capital! Robert had booked tickets for the matinee so after a chilled morning at home we decided to head to the train station.

Robert outside the theatre :)

Me outside the theatre

I really love anything Disney related and so I was super excited to go and see The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre. I have seen it before a couple of years ago and know it was a fantastic production so could not wait to share the experience with Robert. I honestly believe it is a production that you can see over and over again as it really is breathtaking!

I won't say too much about the production itself as I don't wish to spoil it for anyone that has it booked, however I do want to share with you all my favourite parts and characters within the show.

Firstly as a massive Disney fan I have seen The Lion King 15769779707 times, so for me the production had to stick to the film as much as possible, and in that sense the show really does not disappoint. All the iconic parts and characters are present in the production and I believe that is what makes it truly magical.

My FAVOURITE  part of the show is 'The Circle of Life' scene right at the start. The costumes for all of the animals are incredible and they join the stage from various doors and entrances and even join the stage by coming through the audience. Which enables you to see the costumes at such close range and the amazing work that has gone into creating them. It really helps immerse  you into the story from the word go and only gets better from there on in!

I highly recommend for any Disney fan or theatre lover to book tickets to see this show because it really is worth every penny!

Robert has booked us a reservation for dinner later on in the evening, which gave us time after the show to just have a wonder around and have a relaxed evening rather than rushing from one place to the other. The show started at 1:30pm and with the interval finished at around 5:30pm (just to give you an idea of how long the show is on for and if you are planning a trip to London you can make your reservations to suit you).

Sartoria - Birthday Meal :)
I was actually super nervous about this reservation as Robert had only told me we were going to an Italian restaurant on Savile Row and that it was slightly posher then our normal kind of dining place. I don't know if it is just me, but I don't always enjoy going to super posh places as I feel like I don't really belong there?

Having said this though, I actually enjoyed every single second in Sartoria and cannot wait to go back again with Robert!

THE nicest Spaghetti Carbonara I've ever had..

How cute is this Tiramisu :)

Sorry that my photos of my food are a little dark and they really don't do them justice at all however  this was the NICEST Spaghetti Carbonara and Tiramisu I have EVER tasted. If you go to Sartoria for dinner then you should definitely try these!
I am so lucky to such a lovely husband who spoils me and makes my birthday so special. It was a wonderful day and I hope you have enjoyed sharing my day with me.

Lots of Love

Tea at Harrods

My brother kindly brought Robert & I  a 'Virgin Experience Day' at Harrods and the whole experience from start to finish was lovely!

You receive the iconic red envelope and inside is the voucher for whichever experience you have brought/or been given. The voucher is very easy to register on the website and from there  it gives details on how to book your experience.

We originally had the experience booked for a couple of weekends before but had to reschedule with Harrods due to bad weather. So our Cream Tea for Two was rescheduled for the Saturday of Easter Weekend.

We booked our Cream Tea for 1:30PM and decided to travel to London a bit early to have a browse around Harrods before heading up to The Terrace, we have been to Harrods many times before but really enjoy having a look around especially in the food hall!

Happy Easter from the bakery! :)
After a little look around we decided to head up to the fourth floor to The Terrace where we had a reservation for our Cream Tea. The Terrace has a dress code of smart causal and a reservation is probably advisable as the Afternoon Tea is very popular.

All ready for his Crean Tea :)

Now which tea to pick?
With our Cream Tea we were able to choose a pot of tea each which is great because Robert and I like different types of tea :)  The size of teapot is quite large so it's definitely generous and worth the money for the experience! Plus if you really like your tea, you can purchase it downstairs in the Harrods food hall if you want to!

Earl Grey is my fave! :)

Now that looks so yummy!

With our experience we were given a plain scone and a fruit scone each, with cute little bowls of preserves (Clotted cream, Rose Jelly, Lemon Curd and Traditional Jam). I personally liked just the traditional cream and jam on my scones, but they all tasted nice so I guess it is down to personal preference.

NICEST Scone ever!

Happy with a full tummy! <3

We really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend if this is something you would enjoy. You can book directly with the Terrace if you don't want to use the Vrigin Experience gift cards, either way I'm sure you will have a great time if you do decide to go for Cream Tea at Harrods.

If you have been to Harrods for Cream Tea then let me know in the comments below what you thought :)
